I love researching and selecting particular materials, often unique pieces “created by nature” or abandoned pieces that have reached the end of their normal life cycle, because I have an intense and ingrained relationship with everyday life, because I am interested in what goes through life and its tracks. I like exploring how time leaves its traces engraved on the elements. It fascinates me what the sea can give us back. I want each of my creations to be unique, as each of us is unique.

 Annalaura

The LIGHT project "ALux, GIOCHI di LUCE" by Annalaura di Luggo stems from the desire to translate the artist's personal experience into a "project" capable of transfiguring a passionate experience into a form of artistic expression. A device where the "functional" element usually the protagonist, opens a path to an "emotional element" but at the same time, a mechanism aimed at a reflection on the theme of rebirth and of civil and social responsibility. The original resurgence becomes unique pieces, expression of art.

The research and the careful selection of particular materials is the first step in a creative process that does not fear, in any way, unusual combinations, daring combinations, whose unification is the matrix of a work of re-construction that generates art; exclusive and unrepeatable art.

Wood corroded by time or by the sea, old glass bottles, chains, stones, worn propellers, old pieces of iron, aluminum and steel, scraps of craft memory, items of archaeological mechanisms of the industrial age, modern fiberglass panels, discoveries of all kinds are the protagonists of the creations of Annalaura di Luggo. Productions in which the clients are often involved, called to express their desires, so that the final product can also contain expressions of their personality.

The showroom of "ALux, GIOCHI di LUCE" by Annalaura di Luggo is hosted in the splendid, evocative location of Palazzo Donn'Anna in Naples that serves as an inspiring habitat for the creations. A suggestive, symbolic frame, in an intense and overbearing way, with its immediate appeal to the relationship between water and stone, united in a symbiotic relationship, yet condemned to a mythical, universal, infinite conflict. In the same way as, in the famous Palazzo, in its innumerable ravines, dark and light dialogue and clash: the dualism, perhaps irreducible, that develops and nurtures, in every moment, the sentiment and the creative gesture of Annalaura.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"I love the gift of life." I consider myself lucky to have received God's gifts, in which I deeply believe: strength, vitality and creativity, but above all an open personality, in search of unexplored paths.

In my life I have undertaken professional paths and personal choices in different areas every time. In all my works I have set myself to put energy and passion at the service of concrete initiatives from the business sphere to art and civil and social projects.

I think it is a desirable way to be protagonists of one's life, identifying the possibilities and the tools to make possible changes aimed at improving one's own existence and the condition of the communities.

I am literally seduced by the charm of light and I am tremendously influenced by the symbolic value that expresses, since time immemorial, that the ritual of passage, perennial and sublime, which is the transition from darkness to light, from night to day, from the moon to the sun . The luminous works I created: "ALux, GIOCHI di LUCE", are a kind of transfiguration in objects of my interest in this mysterious and infinite dialectic experience.

One of the main expressions of my research around light is the photography, in particular the "Macro". My investigation is aimed at gathering and returning in a "amplified" form, a peculiar aspect of the identity that belongs to everyone, "the eye" from which the artistic project Occh-IO / Eye-I is born - which I have been exhibiting for years all over the world - (precisely to evoke the singularity that each individual bears ".
